Design Process

1. Empathize & User/Stakeholder Research
This design began with researching user-centric information through home visits, user observation, and stakeholder interviews, to ensure the needs of our target audience would be addressed.
3. Ideation
We generated and shared many ideas, using concept sketches, brainstorming, Canva visual thinking (mind maps, image boards), and sketch renderings, before grouping a few to prototype.
5. Test
Prototypes were used by relevant stakeholders so we could observe how people reacted, spot what worked or broke, and gather feedback to refine the design.
2. Define Root Problem
By integrating the user research into journey mapping, requirement tables, and alternatives matricies, the problem was refined. Additionally, patent and market research was gathered to perform benchmark testing on existing solutions.
4. Prototype
Created several iterations of T-handle design through rapid prototyping tools like the lathe, mill, 3D printer.
REPEAT!!
Incorporate user feedback to refine design!
